Paint Your Path
The Milford Education Foundation’s Paint Your Path program uses skateboards as creative canvases to inspire middle school students, blending art with social experiences. Guided by renowned local artists, Miguel Estrada and Kiko Hernandez, students craft unique designs while gaining new artistic opportunities. This initiative, part of the Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp, fosters imagination, innovation, and connection. It has been cherished by participants for its ability to spark creativity in ways they might not typically encounter.
All About 'Paint Your Path'
The Milford Education Foundation is pleased to announce that our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Milford, and the Milford Arts Council (MAC) will once again bring you Paint Your Path in summer.
Paint Your Path was created by the Milford Education Foundation to inspire middle school aged students to innovate through creativity while providing a positive social experience. Skateboards are used as the “canvas” for various unique designs created by the kids while guided by locally renowned artists.
In essence, the skateboards serve as a “cool factor”, and become a keepsake that the students can keep, display and cherish.
This year’s program will be held as part of the Boys and Girls Club 2025 Summer Camp on July 8, 10, 15, and 17 from 10:30 AM to noon.
The two local artists this year are Miguel Estrada of Marsh Made Art and Kiko Hernandez. Kiko, who specializes in portraits, and is originally from Honduras is returning from last year.
“I started drawing in Honduras and went to art school there. I didn’t have access to different materials so I hoped to give these kids opportunities I didn’t have when I was younger,” Hernandez said.

Meanwhile, our new artist, Miguel Estrada, says his work is designed to be inspiring and bring happiness, which is why he includes the word “LOVE” on his creations — including his most recent mural highlighting the history of the Milford Art Council's Firehouse Gallery in Walnut
Beach.

The Milford Education Foundation aims to pilot programs that will engage students with imagination, creativity, innovation, and social connections.

“I liked this program because it gave a lot of kids an opportunity to express themselves and be creative in a way they probably wouldn’t get otherwise,” Natalia, 2024 participant.
