Over the summer The Milford Education Foundation partnered with the Milford Arts Council (MAC) and the Milford Boys and Girls Club to pilot a new program, Paint Your Path. The pilot was included as part of the Club’s summer camp where over 20 young learners honed their imagination, creativity, and artistic skills through unique designs they expressed on skateboards.
They were guided by two highly talented local artists provided by The Milford Arts Council, Kiko Hernandez, and John O’Grodnick.
On Sunday, September 22 the finished skateboards will be on display at the MAC’s Firehouse Gallery from 2-5 PM (81 Naugatuck Ave, Milford, CT 06460). The display will be open to the public. Many of the students and the artists will be there where you can see and hear first hand the results of the program and take in the wonderful imagination that is resident in our kids. Representatives from the Milford Education Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club of Milford, and the Milford Arts Council will also be on hand to meet and field any questions.
This is the first time that the Milford Education Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club of Milford, and the Milford Arts Council have teamed up to provide a program that integrates the unique talents, capabilities and passions of their respective organizations. The three organizations will be working on expansion plans for this and other programs they would like to see provided to Milford youth.
